FVI Research Assistant

Job Summary

The Research Assistant is a Canada Summer Jobs role. The successful candidate will conduct research and provide project support to create day programming for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design & construct model for effective qualitative & quantitative data collection
  • Conduct research around program development, nature of program, number of clients involved in program overall, daily client participation, budget considerations, hours of program operation, infrastructure necessary for successful program
  • Compile results of research into a report for each topic and present these FVI Executive Director & Board Executive
  • May assist with general office duties as time permits
  • Attends FVI meetings as appropriate
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary student with preference given to those in social work, nursing, education or human resources field

 

Preferred Skills/Capabilities

  • Effective communication & interpersonal skills
  • Solid research skills
  • Proficient in writing, skilled in data analysis
  • Good computer skills with working knowledge of MS Office
  • Understanding of individuals with intellectual disabilities
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • A driver license and vehicle are required for this position
  • A Criminal Record check is required

 

Start date:  June 1, 2024

 

Salary:  commensurate with experience & qualifications
