Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

1.      Design

  •  Contribute technical expertise through design leadership on a variety of projects, including commercial, residential, industrial, and institutional market segments.
  • Work with the drafting team to provide project-specific engineering, details, and support.
  •  Review designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy and conformance with applicable engineering codes and standards by jurisdiction.
  •  Provide technical advice on safe designs and construction.
  • Review and stamp ICE Panel shop drawings.
  • Review and sign off on structural envelope installations in the field.
  • Work with external project design teams to coordinate structural scope with all aspects of the project.

2.      Project Management

  • Coordinate design and engineering team activities and support project managers/technical staff in the delivery of projects across the company.
  •  Coordinate with sub-consultants and clients as required.

 

3.     Business Development

  • Provide quality client services.
  • Contribute to proposals, development, and new business opportunities.
  • Business travel upon request.
  • Commit to self-development, ongoing learning, and professional development.
  • Support the career development of junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching, and mentoring.

4.   Innovation

  • Provide technical expertise to the development and implementation of innovation projects.
  • Work with the R&D Team to continuously improve existing designs and products.

 Other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  •   Must hold P.Eng. certification in a Canadian jurisdiction and be willing and able to expand to other jurisdictions as required
  •   5+ years of structural engineering experience
  •   Strong technical background in structural design.
  •   Deep knowledge of construction materials and methodologies.
  •   Highly collaborative spirit and experience working in a team.
  •    Problem-solving skills to quickly address issues that arise on-site and keep projects on track.
  •    Project management experience is considered an asset.
  •   Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  •    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
