Mentorability Mentorship Facilitator

Career Connections Inc. is seeking a Mentorship Facilitator to recruit participants, coordinate employer mentorships, support clients and mentors, build community partnerships, facilitate workshops, maintain program records, and promote inclusive employment opportunities through the MentorAbility program. Strong communication, digital, and relationship-building skills are essential.

Job Description

Position Title:                    Mentorship Facilitator

 

Reports To:                       Executive Director

 

Probationary Period:       90 days

 

Purpose of the Position

CCI Inc is the provincial Hub for the MentorAbility project, which is coordinated nationally by the Canadian Association for Supported Employment (CASE). This initiative is built on a supported employment foundation that promotes the recruitment, employment, and retention of people experiencing disability. The initiative provides and celebrates in-person and virtual mentoring experiences, networking and learning events, social media campaigns, as well as building a body of evidence through research activities. With a specific focus on facilitating unique, short-term (from 1 hour to 1 day) mentoring opportunities between employers and people experiencing a disability, this initiative is part of a national effort to promote the employment of Canadians experiencing disability.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Recruit, intake, and support clients seeking career exploration or work experience.
  • Match clients with appropriate employer mentors based on skills, interests, and availability.
  • Coordinate the logistics of all mentorship engagements, including scheduling, preparation, and follow-up.
  • Provide guidance to both mentors and clients throughout the mentorship process.
  • Build relationships with employers across sectors to promote inclusive hiring and mentoring practices.
  • Conduct outreach to local businesses, industry groups, and community organizations.
  • Provide employers with program information, accessibility resources, and ongoing support
  • Facilitate regular check-ins, workshops, and orientation sessions for mentors and clients.
  • Ensure accommodations and accessibility needs are met.
  • Troubleshoot issues and provide problem-solving support as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of mentorship matches, participant outcomes, and employer involvement.
  • Collect required forms, consent documents, and feedback surveys.
  • Prepare reports for internal use and funder requirements.
  • Represent MentorAbility Canada at local events, job fairs, and community forums.
  • Assist in marketing efforts, including social media content, newsletters, and outreach materials.
  • Promote disability inclusion awareness within the community.

Qualification and Competencies

 

  • Post-secondary education in Social Services, Human Resources, Disability Studies, Career Development, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong digital literacy skills, including ability to learn new software and to effectively communicate across various digital media platforms. Project platforms that require detailed knowledge include Microsoft 365, including Teams and SharePoint, Zoom and other communications platforms. Digital literacy skills may be evaluated as part of the interview process.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, public speaking, writing skills and media relations ability.
  • Strong online/virtual engagement skills, including social media engagement, setting up and hosting online meetings and webinars, chat and instant messaging, etc.
  • Ability to respectfully work with diverse stakeholders in an inclusive manner.
  • Knowledge of employment and labour trends, personal and professional development and community engagement approaches.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a local team, as part of a national team, and independently.
  • Ability to communicate in French is an asset but not a requirement
  • Previous experience in a mentoring program and working with persons with disabilities is an asset.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s licence

 

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday between 8:00am to 4:00pm.

Salary: Based on experience
